Nickel Yttrium Alloy Powder Description

Yttrium is a soft, silver-metallic, lustrous, and highly crystalline transition metal in group 3. In conjunction with other rare earth, yttrium is used as a phosphor in television receivers and is a component of the yttrium-aluminum-garnet (YAG) lasers. Pure nickel, powdered to maximize the reactive surface area, shows a significant chemical activity, but larger pieces are slow to react with air under standard conditions because an oxide layer forms on the surface and prevents further corrosion (passivation).
