Magnesium carbonate white monoclinic or amorphous powder. Non-toxic, stable in tasteless gas, soluble in acid and ammonium salt solution. When calcined, it is easily decomposed into magnesium oxide and carbon dioxide. In case of dilute acid, the carbon dioxide is released, and in general, it is slightly soluble in water. It is easy to react with water when heated (when hard water softens) to form magnesium hydroxide (because magnesium hydroxide is more difficult to dissolve than magnesium carbonate).

Application of magnesium carbonate powder:

Widely used in lithium manganate, lithium cobaltite, lithium iron phosphate, ternary materials and other lithium battery cathode materials, desiccant, color protectant, carrier, anti-fastening agent. It is used as an additive in foods and as a reinforcing agent and filler in rubber. It can be used as insulation and high temperature resistant fireproof insulation material.

Storage conditions:

magnesium carbonate powder should be sealed and stored in a dry and cool environment. It should not be exposed to the air for a long time, to prevent agglomeration due to moisture, affecting the dispersion performance and use effect, and should avoid heavy pressure, do not contact with oxidant, and transport according to ordinary goods.
