Iron oxide red nano powder for sensitive materials:

  1. Ultrafine Fe2O3 has semiconductor properties, and its conductivity is sensitive to temperature, humidity, and gas, and is a potentially sensitive material.
  2. The gas sensor uses metal oxide to change the composition of the gas in the surrounding atmosphere to detect and quantify the gas by changing its electrical properties (such as resistance). The particle size used for gas sensors is one to several microns. The smaller the particle size, the larger the specific surface area. The greater the interaction between the surface and the surrounding contact surface, the higher the sensitivity.
  3. It is found through experiments that α-Fe2O3 ultrafine powder has good sensitivity.
  4. A gas sensor made of Fe2O3 prepared by the precipitation method has been tested and found that the conductivity of pure α-Fe2O3 is very small, and its sensitivity to CO with a mass fraction of 0.5% is low. By incorporating appropriate noble metals, carbonates and oxides, the conductivity and sensitivity can be significantly improved.
