Iron Oxide Hydroxide Dispersion Description

Iron Nanorods are elongated particles ranging from 10 to 120 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 30 – 70 m2/g range. Nano Iron is also available passivated and in Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. They are also available as a dispersion through the Nanochemazone Nanofluid production group. Nanofluids are generally defined as suspended nanorods in solution either using surfactant or surface charge technology. Nanofluid dispersion and coating selection technical guidance is also available.

Other nanostructures include nanoparticles, nanowhiskers, nanohorns, nanopyramids and other nanocomposites. Surface functionalized nanorods allow for the particles to be preferentially adsorbed at the surface interface using chemically bound polymers.

Iron particles are being tested for site specific drug delivery agents for cancer therapies and in coatings, plastics, nanowire, nanofiber and textiles and in certain alloy and catalyst applications.

FAQs

Q1: What is Iron Oxide Hydroxide Dispersion?

Iron oxide hydroxide dispersion is a stable suspension of FeO(OH) particles in a liquid medium, used for pigments, coatings, water treatment, and advanced research applications.

Q2: How is Iron Oxide Hydroxide Dispersion applied in industrial coatings?

It provides uniform color, improved corrosion resistance, and better adhesion when incorporated into paints, varnishes, and protective coatings.

Q3: What benefits does this dispersion offer over dry iron oxide hydroxide?

The dispersion ensures even particle distribution, reduces dust hazards, simplifies handling, and allows precise formulation in liquid-based applications.

Q4: Which industries commonly use Iron Oxide Hydroxide Dispersion?

It is used in pigments and paints, wastewater treatment, ceramics, catalysts, and research laboratories focused on nanomaterials and functional coatings.

Q5: What storage and handling practices maintain dispersion quality?

Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry place. Avoid contamination and gently stir before use to ensure homogeneity and consistent performance.
